Storrs Objection: Safety

Storrs Objection: Safety

Local comedian Matt Storrs is known for bringing his law background to the stage, especially when fact-checking other comedians’ material after their sets. “The Storrs Objection” will now give Matt the opportunity to fact-check other comedians’ material DURING their sets. Along with this monthly co-council, Matt Storrs will rebut and rebuke comedians in the middle of a premise or punchline, throwing off timing and train of thought, and maybe starting a fight or two. “The Storrs Objection” is heckling with a wrecking ball. The theme for this special Bird City show will be "safety." Matt will be joined by co-counsel Hattie Hayes.

Ordered to perform are Sofiya Alexandria, Patrick Hastie, Amanda Hurley, Alley Lightfoot, Valerie Tosi, Emily Winter, David Rodriguez, Joleen Lunzer, Michael Margetis, Samuel John Lowy and Ashley Naftule.

Cristin Davis' Underbelly: A Screening

An hour of intimate stand-up comedy performed by a man with a woman’s name. This is the classic tale of good vs. evil personified through humor done in poor taste. SURPRISE! Comedy with Rob & Sofiya

SURPRISE! Comedy with Rob & Sofiya

SURPRISE! with Rob & Sofiya is a mystery-lineup comedy show / house party that has happened every month for the last five years in a different Los Angeles yard or living room. Co-hosts Robert Buscemi and Sofiya Alexandra have staged such luminaries as Pete Holmes, Cameron Esposito, Demetri Martin, and Ali Wong. Line-ups are always diverse and inclusive, and there's always a musician or variety act. Once a skunk wandered into a corner of a yard at the Halloween show as Emo Phillips performed obliviously, dressed as a Frenchman. That was fun. Also there are usually paper arrows taped to pavement and telephone poles to guide guests to that month's locale. And the show sometimes turns into a dance party after. It's been praised by the LA Review of Books, Comedy Cake, The Comedy Bureau, and elsewhere. If you don't come at Bird City, maybe a skunk will come after you, too.
