Q: What is Bird City Comedy Festival?

A: The third annual Bird City Comedy Festival will take place in Downtown Phoenix March 29-March 31., 2018. Our lineup showcases the very best in stand up, improv, sketch, storytelling and more.


Q: Where does the Bird City Comedy Festival take place?

A: Bird City Comedy Festival takes place at several venues throughout Central Phoenix.


Q: When do tickets and festival passes go on sale?

A: Festival passes are currently on sale here. Tickets go on sale Mar. 1 until two hours before showtime or the show is sold out. All ticket links are on our website under event listings under schedule.


Q: How do I purchase tickets and festival passes?

A: Three-day passes are currently on sale here. Individual tickets will be available for sale starting Mar. 1 from our schedule page. Space permitting, you can also purchase shows at the door.


Q: I ordered tickets or passes online. How do I get them?

A: Each show will have a box office where you can verify your ticket or festival pass purchase for admission. For greater ease, please show a digital or printed copy of your purchase. 


Q: Are tickets and passes general admission or are there assigned seats?

A: Most festival seats are general admission, though we do offer priority seating to VIP festival passholders. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so please arrive early.


Q: Is there an age requirement for festival shows?

A: It depends on the venue. Crescent Ballroom and Plazma Bar are 21+. All other festival venues are all ages. Please keep in mind that material may not be suitable for all audiences.

Q: Will there be food / beverage for sale at the shows?

A: Food and beverage sales depend on the venue. Crescent Ballroom, FoundRE and Space 55 sell food and drinks. Phoenix Center for the Arts, Playhouse on the Park, Alwun House and Trunk Space sell drinks. 


Q: How long do the shows last?

A: Show length will vary from event to event, but most will run about 90 minutes.


Q: Do you need volunteers for the festival?

A: We definitely do! Please fill out our volunteer form and someone will be in touch shortly. 


Q: Are the venues handicapped accessible?

A: Each of our festival venues are handicapped accessible. Please contact the event venue for more specific information about accessibility.


Q: I’m a comedian. Do you have any stage time for me at the festival?

A: Each night of the festival, we have the Little Bird Showcase where stand ups can get five minutes of stage time. From each showcase, one comedian will be offered a longer spot on another festival show. Click here to sign up for a spot.


Q: I’m a comedian who missed submissions this year. When will submissions open for 2018?

A: Submissions for 2019 will open September 15, 2018 and close December 15, 2018. To receive email notifications about submissions, you may sign up here.


Q: I cannot use my ticket or passes. Can I get a refund?

A: Possibly. Please email us at birdcitycomedy@gmail.com to resolve any issues.


Q: May I take photos or video of the festival?

A: We allow non-flash photography. However, flash photography and videos require prior permission from festival runners. Unauthorized photos or videos could be grounds for removal from the festival. To request permission, please email us at birdcitycomedy@gmail.com.
